2014 Community Service Project

Are you attending SLC and want to give back to the community at the same time?  Well, Iowa PBL has the perfect option for you!We are asking all chapters to collect non-perishable food items or cash donations from their local members and campus communities to bring to SLC 2014.  All items will be donated to the Fayette County Food Shelf to help recover after a recent fire.  To read more about the Fayette County Food Shelf fire click here

Dakota State University Rocks Out for Prematurity Awareness Month

Dakota State University’s Phi Beta Lambda hosted a week-long prematurity awareness campaign for the March of Dimes Tuesday, November 13th to Friday, November 16th. The week was kicked off at the DSU Men and Women’s doubleheader basketball game on Tuesday night. PBL invited a guest speaker from March of Dimes, Lisa Shatswell, to help promote Prematurity Awareness Month and to share her personal story during halftime. PBL members Megan Pifer, Jeni Habeger, Will Bakeberg, Andy Hunter, and Andrew Van Demark teamed up with Lisa, collecting donations for the March of Dimes throughout the night.

UIU PBL Students Assist with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in West Union

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition recently came to Northeast Iowa.  The week-long project took place during the first week in October in West Union, Iowa.  Four students from Upper Iowa's PBL chapter helped with the effort, along with many other people from the University and community. It was a rewarding experience to help a family in need and change their lives forever!
