(Below) Several Wartburg College PBL members participated in this year's PBL State Leadership Conference in Iowa City.

Approximately 100 PBL members, advisers, alumni, company representatives and special guests attended the 2010 State Leadership Conference this past weekend hosted by the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. This year's theme was "Simply the Best!"
New to this year's conference was online testing for the competitive events that included an objective test. The benefit from this was an ability to add more breakout sessions and training opportunities for our PBL members. Also new this year was the creation of "paths" for students to follow related to a specific element of business. The three paths offered were: Financial Responsibility, Business Soft Skills and Career Preparedness.

Friday's general session and keynote speech by Jim Lemoine did not disappoint. In addition to Jim's wonderful presentation including excellent pie charts, we heard from our 2010-2011 state officer candidates as well as a March of Dimes family. Friday night attendees were able to socialize with each other as well as sample some sushi at Takanami a local Japanese restaurant.
Saturday saw the continuation of the path workshops and presentation competitive events along with a networking presentation and opportunity for attendees to put their newly learned skills to practice by meeting representatives from several area companies. After lunch, delegates had the opportunity to meet with state officer candidates before elections took place.
